I learned many things from the presentation 9 Things You Need to Know About Teens, Technology, and Online Privacy made by Amanda Lenhart and Mary Madden. What surprised me the most was the lack of concern by teens and parents. Although teens are starting to ask advice about social networking management, they have not been deterred in participating. As a parent, I closely monitor my child's online use. I was very upset by this presentation when I found that the percentage of parents interest is not very high. I would like to hear comments on what you think about the lack of concern about teens and technology.

Love your infographic! We shared much of the same information by the same author, but I noticed that she had two different presentations . . . just like us! Ha! Interesting info. on teens. I do think they're listening to our warnings a little bit!
ReplyDeleteI loved your layout, organization, and information from the presentation!
ReplyDeleteYour infographic is very well put together. I enjoyed reading all the statistics. I agree that it is very disturbing that the lower percentage was in parents involvement with their childrens internet activity. Every year I discuss with my students about the ramifications of saying things and writing things down. I explain that when they get angry, frustrated, or hurt they can think any thought they want. They can curse, scream, and be ugly to a person inside their head but once they say it out loud to another person or write it down whether on paper, Twitter, Facebook, etc... they are putting themselves out for whatever consequence comes their way.
